Bright Angel, Tonto Trails; Havasupai Gardens Campground to reopen at Grand Canyon

Water distribution line installation at Havasupai Gardens in Grand Canyon National Park

April 12, 2024

Two trails and a campground at the Grand Canyon will reopen to the public on April 15.

The Bright Angel and Tonto Trails, and Havasupai Gardens campground have been closed since December for work on the Transcanyon Waterline project. The Plateau Point Trail remains closed, beginning at Havasupai Gardens, until June 20.

Work continues at the Grand Canyon, on the new South Rim water treatment plant and helibase; and on the inner canyon’s Phantom Ranch plant.
