Tuzigoot, Montezuma Castle seeking volunteers for tree planting, invasive plant removal projects

Tuzigoot and Montezuma Castle National Monuments are looking for small groups of volunteers to help with upcoming tree planting and invasive plant removal projects.


At Tuzigoot on April 11th, volunteers will help replant cottonwood and willow trees in the section of Tavasci Marsh that was burned in a wildfire a year ago. Space is limited, and to RSVP call the Monument’s Visitor Center at 928-634-5564.


On April 22nd, Montezuma Castle will conduct volunteer weed removal at Montezuma Well. You can RSVP at 928-567-3322.


Tools will be provided for both projects; though participants should bring their own water, snacks and sun protection.
