The Prescott City Council declined to accept a federal grant for a new traffic signal at Gail Gardner Way and Fair Street at their Tuesday meeting.

The City initially applied for the grant in 2022, but after researching the proposal they determined the project could be done for less than half of the $1 million amount of the grant. The City Council also received public feedback from neighbors who said the signal is not necessary, leading them to decline the grant.
