NWS issues High Wind Watch for Northern AZ

Wind Forecast for April 5

April 3, 2024

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for much of Northern Arizona, through Friday night.

Officials advise the public to expect gusts between 40 and 50 miles per hour in the higher elevations Thursday night, then across the region on Friday. The northeastern part of the state will see gusts between 60 and 70 miles per hour; and the winds and blowing dust will make traffic difficult, particularly along I-40 east of Flagstaff, and especially for high profile vehicles.
