The City of Prescott and local scientific charity GEM Environmental are celebrating the opening of a new community trail near the downtown area.

The site, near the Boys & Girls Club on Aubrey Street, was identified in a City study as a prime spot for a trail; and GEM Environmental agreed to construct it for free, as a way for their Youth Conservation Crew to gain trailbuilding experience, practicing Leave No Trace principles.

The short trail is accessible from the southside back parking lot of the Boys & Girls Club, and features unobstructed views of Thumb Butte and Granite Mountain.
