Apartment construction site fire in Prescott Valley extinguished; some evacuations, road closures remain in place

The remains of a construction site fire in Prescott Valley

April 2, 2024

Fire crews have put out the blaze that destroyed an apartment complex under construction in downtown Prescott Valley on Monday.

Central Arizona Fire & Medical personnel continue monitoring the site; and some residents in the Homestead Apartments, across Main Street from the fire, were still under an evacuation order, as of Tuesday morning. Florentine Road also remains closed between Glassford Hill and Lake Valley.

The fire caused an estimated $60 million in damage, and the investigation into how it started continues. CAFMA thanks the numerous emergency agencies, business and other groups that assisted with the response.
