Flagstaff's Lockett-Fourth St. Roundabout project delayed to 2025

February 14, 2024

The City of Flagstaff announced earlier this month that construction on the Lockett-Fourth Street Roundabout project, originally scheduled for this year, has been delayed to 2025.

The project will replace the traffic signals at the Fourth Street and Cedar Avenue/Lockett Road intersection with a roundabout, to help improve safety and reduce high-severity crashes by slowing driver speeds. It also includes the addition of a crosswalk on the fourth leg of the intersection, and pedestrian-activated signals.

The City says the delay is due to the complexities of utility relocation, right-of-way acquisitions, finalizing the project design, and needed amendments to the Intergovernmental Agreement between the City and ADOT.
