Construction on Sedona Uptown Roadway Improvements project substantially completed

March 7, 2024
The City of Sedona has substantially completed construction for the Uptown Roadway Improvements project, allowing them to fully open State Route 89-A and ease construction-related congestion prior to the Spring Break season.
The highway has a new designated left-turn lane onto Forest Road, with the two northbound lanes merging before the stoplight, to reduce backups into the Y. There is a new shared-use path along the roadway between L’Auberge Lane and Forest Road; and the project also included the removal of streetside parking from Forest to the Jordan Road roundabout, along with other traffic signal and infrastructure improvements.
The final phase of the project will be completed once the peak visitation season ends in the early summer, with the repaving of the northbound lanes from L’Auberge to Owensby Way.
