A Yavapai County jury found a California man guilty in an August 2022 shoplifting and drug possession case in Cottonwood.

The County Attorney’s Office says Cottonwood police arrested 47-year-old Octavious Jones after he was seen stealing numerous items from a local grocery store. He reportedly admitted that he was planning to sell the merchandise; and police also found fentanyl and methamphetamine in his vehicle.

Jones faces a minimum of 4.5 years in prison; and he will be sentenced in mid-May.
