ADOT begins construction on new bridge over I-17 near Flagstaff Airport

The Arizona Department of Transportation is beginning construction on a new overpass at JW Powell Boulevard, over I-17, south of Flagstaff.
Drivers should expect intermittent daytime lane restrictions weekdays, with limited overnight closures, as crews construct a new bridge over the highway and realign the existing roads. The project is scheduled for completion this coming fall.
There will be no pedestrian or bicycle access over the existing bridge during the project, with non-motorized traffic detoured to the Sheeps Crossing Trail, which goes under the Interstate just north of JW Powell Boulevard.
