The Williams Police Department advises their residents that phone calls asking for donations to a “school activity” are legitimate; though they remind residents to always be cautious with your credit card information.

The Department learned of the calls from residents concerned that they were a scam; and police contacted the Williams Unified School District and learned they were valid; and you can contact the District for more information.

Police say you should always double check with an official source that any fundraiser you are being asked to donate to is real, before sharing your financial information.
