Sedona woman dies in mobile home fire

Sedona FD investigate a fatal mobile home fire

March 13, 2024

A Sedona woman died in a house fire at a mobile home park on Sunset Drive Tuesday night.

According to the Sedona Fire District, emergency personnel were called to the Sunset Village park just before 11:00 p.m., and first-arriving police officers began evacuating nearby homes before fire crews arrived.

Flames were engulfing the mobile home and nearby trees, and after beginning their response, firefighters learned that a resident of the home might still be inside. They made a determined offensive effort to get into the home, and found an older woman in the back. They brought her out, and took her to the hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

Firefighters then transitioned to a defensive strategy to protect neighboring homes; and kept the blaze from spreading beyond the initial site. No firefighters were injured during the response.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation, and officials have not released any further information at this time.
