The Mingus Union High School District’s Governing Board selected their new superintendent on Friday.

After interviewing seven finalists for the position, the board selected Dr. Melody Herne, the former Superintendent of Salt River Schools, to replace the retiring Mike Westcott.

The two parties will be in contract negotiations, and the Board expects to approve Dr. Herne’s contract at their March 14th meeting. She would then begin her employment July 1st.
