Classes canceled at Bradshaw Mountain HS after third break-in in a week; PVPD still seeks suspect

Prescott Valley PD is trying to ID the suspect in multiple break-ins at Bradshaw Mountain HS

UPDATE: Prescott Valley PD now says they are seeking the same suspect in the Legado Apartments fire and Bradshaw Mountain HS incidents.

April 4, 2024

Classes at Bradshaw Mountain High School in Prescott Valley were cancelled Thursday due to a reported electrical fire and apparent break-in.

According to an early-morning message sent out to parents and posted on the school’s website, an electrical fire was discovered on campus; and although it was contained, it knocked out both power and internet.

Later Thursday morning, the Prescott Valley Police Department reported that they had responded to an alarm at the school around 6:00 a.m. and discovered someone had breached the building. They found fresh paint and several damaged interior rooms, and called in additional resources, including a SWAT team and K9s to help clear the campus.

The school was also the site of two incidents over the weekend, totaling about $60,000 dollars worth of damages to the building and the running track.

Police also continue to ask the public for any information about the fire that destroyed the Legado apartment complex early Monday morning. They have not said whether they suspect the fire is connected to the incidents at the high school, but all of the incidents are under investigation by a joint task force made up of local law enforcement and fire officials, and the federal ATF National Response Team.

The Department once again asks that any residents or businesses with security cameras near the school or the site of the fire, particularly in Castle Canyon Mesa and Lynx Lake Estates, review footage for anything or anyone suspicious from overnight or early in the morning of March 29 and 31, and April 1 and 4.

They have set up a 24/7 tip line for information about any of these incidents at 928-772-5666; as well as a website where the public can upload videos or photos. You can find release with a link and instructions, along with new surveillance images of the high school damage suspect, at prescottvalley-az.gov.
