The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality announced Friday that Circle K reported the release of about 86,000 gallons of unleaded gasoline into the environment, from their station on State Route 89 in Chino Valley.

The nearest public water supply well is more than a mile away from the incident, and initial tests of private wells in the immediate area did not show any impacts from the release. ADEQ notified Yavapai County Health officials about the situation, and they are working with with the Town.

Circle K has initiated an investigation of soil and groundwater in the area; including requesting permission from private well owners to collect and test water samples. The company will then provide the test results to residents and ADEQ.
