Verde Valley Fire District crews put out a car fire near Pecks Lake, in Clarkdale, on Friday afternoon.

The District says crews were called to an area off of Sycamore Canyon Road, and were able to quickly put the flames out before they could spread into surrounding brush. They did not release any initial information about how the fire started.
